OCM & OCR Sterilizer

Troubleshooting

Symptom Cause Solution
NO CONTROL OF PRESSURE/TEMPERATURE A) OVERTEMP SWITCH A) RECALIBRATE FROM COLD START

B) THERMISTOR ASSEMBLY B) RESISTANCE SHOULD BE 1 MEG Ω (ohms) @ 77°F ± 20%
C) SOLID STATE CONTROLLER C) MEASURE VOLTAGE FROM COMMON TERMINAL OF POWER SWITCH NO.2 TO COMMON TERMINAL OF FUNCTION SWITCH. IF 120 VOLTS, BOARD IS OPEN. IF 0 VAC, BOARD IS GOOD

D) CENTER HEATING ELEMENT D) POSSIBILITY OF SHORT IN HOT SIDE OF LINE. TRACE OUT HOT SIDE OF LINE FROM POWER CORD TO SWITCHES FOR A SHORT (b>CHECK CENTER ELEMENT FIRST
WILL NOT BUILD UP TO STERILIZING PRESSURE/TEMPERATURE A) DOOR A) CHECK DOOR TO MAKE SURE IT IS IN THE LOCKED POSITION AND NOT LEAKING.

B) DOOR GASKET B) REPLACE DOOR GASKET IF LEAKING
OCM Door Gasket
OCR Door Gasket
OCR Plus Door Gasket

C) DOOR SWITCH (OCR+ ONLY) C) CHECK SWITCH POSITION AND READJUST IF NECESSARY.

D) UNIT LEVEL D) USE LEVEL AND ADJUST FEET IF NECESSARY.

E) AMOUNT OF WATER ADMITTED DURING FILL CYCLE E) WHEN PROPERLY FILLED, WATER SHOULD COVER FILL PLATE.

F) POTENTIOMETER ON CONTROLLER F) TURN CLOCKWISE TO CALL FOR MORE HEAT.

G) CENTER HEATING ELEMENT G) CHECK RESISTANCE OF ELEMENT, IT SHOULD BE:
~ 10W FOR OCM
~ 8W FOR OCR & OCR+

H) OVERTEMP SWITCH H) RECALIBRATE FROM COLD START, OR REPLACE AND CALIBRATE.
OCM OVERTEMP SWITCH
OCR OVERTEMP SWITCH
OCR Plus OVERTEMP SWITCH

I) THERMISTOR I) CHECK RESISTANCE. SHOULD BE 1 MEG Ω(ohms) @ 77°F ± 20%

J) FRONT POTENTIOMETER J) CHECK RESISTANCE 20K Ω ± 10%.

K) SOLID STATE CONTROLLER K) MEASURE VOLTAGE FROM TOP TERMINAL OF NO. 1 POWER SWITCH TO COMMON TERMINAL OF FUNCTION SWITCH. (IF 120 VAC BOARD IS PROBABLY OPEN; IF 0 VAC, BOARD IS PROBABLY GOOD). THIS IS PROVIDED THERE IS CONTINUITY THROUGH FUNCTION SWITCH, OT SWITCH AND HEATING ELEMENT.

L) MAIN VALVE (FILL/VENT VALVE) L) CHECK TEFLON SEATS FOR SCORING OR TRASH LODGED AROUND SEATS. IF SCORED, REPLACE. IF TRASH OR DEBRIS, CLEAN AND RE-ASSEMBLE.

M) FUNCTION SWITCH M) CHECK FOR ACTIVATION OF SWITCH BY MAIN VALVE CAM. ADJUST POSITION OF SWITCH ARM SO IT IS DEPRESSED AND SWITCH IS CLOSED IN THE STERILIZER MODE.

N) ROCKER ARM N) VISUALLY CHECK FOR ROCKER ARM DEPRESSING PUSH ROD IN STERILIZE MODE. CHECK FOR CLEARANCE AND ADJUST (FLATTEN) CAM SHAFT IF NECESSARY
