Pelton Crane OCM Autoclave Repair Made Simple ™

The Pelton Crane OCM Main Valves are located inside the Main Valve Body. Rebuilding the Valves is Simple and The Only Tool Required Is A Big Screwdriver:

  1. Drain The Water From Reservoir
  2. Lay The Autoclave On It's Side, to Gain Access To The Cut-Out In The Bottom Of The Unit
  3. Using A Screwdriver, Unscrew The Main Valve Cap Part #PCC073-014 (OEM Part #004030), By Turning It Counter Clockwise
  4. Remove The O-ring, Valve Button Retainer, Spring, and Packing (White Teflon)
  5. Clean The Port (Hole)
  6. Install The New Parts
  7. Repeat For The Other Valve

Note: Do Not Remove The Stem. Be careful not to scratch the packing (white telon). 2 Packings are included in the kit, but they are only needed if the main valve stem is loose, and then they have to be pressed in place

There are 2 Main Valves located inside The Main Valve Body Part #PCV075-306 (OEM Part #004310)

One Valve controls the flow of water entering the autoclave chamber during the Fill Cycle and the other Valve controls the flow of water leaving the autoclave chamber during the vent cycle

How The Fill Valve On The Pelton Crane OCM Works

When the bottom knob on the Pelton Crane OCM Autoclave is turned to the "Fill" position, the Fill Valve opens allowing water to pass from the reservoir into the chamber

If water is not entering the chamber, try removing the Fill Line Filter, Part #PCF009-021 (OEM Part #1881031), located on the rear of the chamber floor first. If water starts to flow, then the Fill Line Filter is bad and needs to be replaced

If water still does not enter the chamber, it is most likely the Fill Valve is stuck in the closed position, not allowing the water to pass through, and needs to be rebuilt with this kit.

How The Vent Valve On The Pelton Crane OCM Works

When the bottom knob on the Pelton Crane OCM Autoclave is turned to the "Vent" Position at the end of the cycle, the Vent Valve opens allowing the water inside the chamber to return to the reservoir

If most of the water is remaining inside the chamber at the end of the "Vent" cycle, the Vent Valve is most likely stuck in the closed position, not allowing the water to pass through. The Vent Valve needs to be rebuilt using this kit

If some water is remaining inside the chamber after the Vent Cycle has completed, the Vent Valve is most likely stuck in the open position, allowing the water to drain back through from the reservoir. The Vent Valve needs to be rebuilt using this kit
