How Do You Know If The Barnstead 2250
Steam Trap Needs To Be Replaced?

Steam traps on the Barnstead 2250 are nothing more than automatic valves. They open, close, or modulate automatically. The Steam Trap's purpose is to purge the chamber of air and then to seal the chamber off, and keep it sealed, throughout the steriliztion process.

Symptoms of a faulty steam trap Remaining Open are:
  • Slow Warm-up
  • Low Temperatures (Although Heat May Never Shut Off)
  • Little or No Pressure
  • Chamber Dry before Vent Cycle
  • Constant Bubbling in The Reservoir
Symptoms of a faulty steam trap remaining closed are:
  • No Bubbling In Reservoir At Beginning Of Cycle
  • Water remaining in chamber at end of cycle
Either case means the Steam Trap will have to be replaced

  • Model: RCT084-896
