If there is excessive leakage from your Chemiclave Autoclave Metering Valve, here is the the first place to check and adjust as necessary:

Note: This procedure can be performed on both the new as well as the old Metering Valve when excess leakage is detected

Remove the Chemiclave Metering Valve from the autoclave. This procedure is only possible to perform while you are holding the valve in your hands

How To Re-align Your Chemiclave 6000 Metering Valve

Using a flashlight, look inside the hole of Port A (with the screw openings on each side of the port). You should see a white O-ring. The O-ring should be centered in the opening.

If not, loosen the set Screw A (closest to the port) and rotate the Drum, while looking into the port, until the o-ring is centered. Once alignment is complete, tighten Set Screw A

Service Tip: On the other side of the bracket holding the Set Screw(s) is a nut. There is a small amount of compound on the nut to hold it in place. Should the compound break, the nut will turn when you turn the set screw, preventing you from loosening or tightening it.

To remedy this situation, place the blade of a small screwdriver against the flat of the nut to hold it in place while turning the set screw
Turn the metering valve over and look inside the other large port for the o-ring, and it again should be centered in the opening. If not, repeat the procedure above using Port B & Set Screw B

After both o-rings have been centered, re-install the metering valve and test for leakage.
