How To Use SCI-DRY™

SCI-DRY™ is designed to protect stainless steel instruments and will promote even coating of water on the internal surfaces of the cassette without beading.

This will reduce spotting on the cassette as well as on the instruments. Regular use of SCI-DRY™ enables water to evaporate more quickly and efficiently which enhances instruments' ability to dry faster.

It will also increase the life of the cassette seal. Always follow the equipment manufacturer’s instructions and recommended maintenance schedules.

SCI-DRY™ is intended to be used with all Sci Can® cassette sterilizers including models 2000, 5000 and 7000; and, can also be used as a rinse agent for Sci Can® Hydrim® washers.

Directions for use with SciCan® 2000, 5000 and 7000 sterilizers
  1. SCI-DRY™ should be applied every 10 cycles and always after cleaning the cassette. Cassette cleaning is recommended at least once per week. To clean the cassette: Use a chlorine free dishwashing soap or mild detergent and a light duty scrubbing cloth (suitable for cleaning Teflon® coated surfaces) to scrub the cassette, inside and out. Thoroughly rinse the cassette with clean water to remove any trace of soap or detergent. Wipe the cassette dry with a clean non-abrasive lint-free cloth. Note: To assist in the cleaning of sterilizers, AllClaveParts offers a complete cleaning kit that includes a variety of brushes, sponge, cleansing pad, and convenient carrying case. Ask for the Cleaning Kit (Part RPK791).
  2. Remove the cassette seal. Clean the seal and cassette groove. Examine (replace if necessary) and reinstall the cassette seal
  3. Using the 2 oz. spray bottle of SCI-DRY™, spray coat the entire inside of the cassette sterilizer including the cassette seal
